Last Race before Nationals!!!

Wowee, I can't believe it's actually almost time. This is the last race before we pack up for Lincoln Nebraska. Jason has been working really hard on making sure the car is in tip top shape for the upcoming trip to Nebraska. We already know that the car will not make it on to the transporter without damaging something and we'll have to raise the car, just to get on the transporter safely.

The car is feeling good and both of us are driving pretty well. This is going to be a good time for both of us.

The course is an interesting one, not quite as difficult as the practice course, but it is still a difficult one. We go out and walk the course and make our plans, then it's time to drive. Jason comes back and provides some feedback on the course and I go out to have a drive. I get lost momentarily and go a little wide. I also go a little hot into some of the turns, but the time ends up being a good one - 56.942. Surprisingly, it's faster than Will's time.

We talk about it more and come up with some things to change. This course is providing to be challenging in deceptive ways.

Jason is able to go faster, but I'm going backwards, going slower. It's aggravating in that the course seems straightforward, yet it clearly is not. Grrr.

Jason manages to put down his fastest run on the last run. Unfortunately, he clips a cone on the last transition coming in to the finish. It was a great run too. Oh well. Jason will carry this momentum going forwards to Nationals in two short weeks.

As for me, I'm not able to make it back to my original time and getting more frustrated. Argh! My only consolation is that Will is the only person able to break into the 56's. He's our local ST alien!
