Well, let's start out with the weather - it's actually pleasant. It's a little overcast, but comfortable. As usual, there are a lot of Civics. What is unusual is that the ST class is now the smallest of all the ST classes in existence. Is there a change coming? The provisional STR class had approximately 50 entries. I suspect this class won't stay provisional for very long.
The car is running well - as well as can be expected - I can't say the same for me. I've had basically no seat time from early August up till this race. Let's see what happens.
It didn't rain. Everybody had the same conditions today, though the weather report for tomorrow looks iffy.
Here's a good example of Jeff Wong driving away from everybody else:
There's not really a whole lot to say about today, we are driving fast enough that we are in the trophies (in 8th place), but not fast enough to challenge for anything meaningful. This was a course where I felt you needed to 'know' your car in order to go fast. It was a transitional course that favored the Civics and was lots of fun to drive, but to go FAST, you had to know your car and commit to turns.
Most of the field was on Toyos, a few were on the Hankook and just a handful of us were on Bridgestones. Interesting watching how the tire choice changes fairly quickly.
