More changes afoot for the May event

We went in to this May practice @ Autoclub Speedway with some changes ready to be tested. Since we had only made changes at one end of the car, it was expected that the car may not be balanced with the changes.

Autoclub Speedway is a bumpy lot and it's hard to say if the changes made here are representative elsewhere. During the Saturday practice, we tried all kinds of shock settings and ended up finding that the fastest setting was full stiff all the way around - not what I was expecting.

However, when we turned around and ran the course in the opposite direction (same basic course) on Sunday, the car felt ok on the full stiff setting. Just for the hell of it, Jason changed the car back to full soft and it ended up going faster. What do you think?

Anyhow, the car didn't feel right and the best we could do for the champ event was 4th and 5th.

RIP GoPro - during the practice, we managed to lose the GoPro that was attached outside to video the tires. The case and camera lens was smashed. The mounting bracket was broken too. Guess it's time to replace it.

The big win for this weekend was from Neelu (my daughter), who put 5 seconds on the field in FJB. Watching the videos was hilarious, seeing her listening to me and staying on the gas, charging in to a corner way too hot and scrubbing the speed off.

It was a fun weekend.
