Boy, it's been a blur. Black Friday was awesome. I spent so much time in cars that even with a neck brace, my neck is still sore today. I'm looking forward to a good showing with the Bridgestone Civic.
At lunch time, my kids have their chance to go out and compete before the cars start after lunch. I'm the Youth Steward for this event and I'm running around keeping an eye on everything, making sure it's safe for the kids and they end up having a lot of fun.
After lunch, it's still a little cool, but not unusually so. Jason goes out and makes his first run. He finds that the car is understeering. We are wondering if it's the tires - but it is unlikely because this set is fresh from Nationals. We decide to try it for one more run. I make my first run and don't like the tires at all. They should have been warm enough to be better for my first run. We decide to switch from the shaved set to go back to the practice full tread tires.
Even with cold full tread tires, it feels better than the shaved tires. Both of us are already quicker, so we stay on the full tread tires.
The rest of the event is a bit of a blur. The finish results were disappointing though. I'm not going to dwell on it and I'm not going to rehash it here. If you are really curious, you can go look up the event results ;-)
