SDR Practice..." its rainin' lets go racin' "

It was a wet wet 1 hour and 15 min drive to SD....at first I thought great I wot get to test the tires that I wanted but as I got closer I realized the rain was not going to stop and the full practice was going to be in the rain. As i pulled into the lot it was pouring so I opened up my "In case of Rain" Bag with all my Dry clothes in it and changed clothes to prepare for the rain.

I pretty much had everything I needed since Stephen has us prepare for rain when ever it is close with some vital "secret weapons" for speed in the wet. So I gathered and organized all my tools and I stepped out into the rain and went to tech and registration. The combined groups so i worked first in the pouring windy rain for a 12 run run group...then excitedly ADJUSTED the SHOCKS and put air in the tires and got into grid for some fun wet and wild action...

The was no way to swim the course before hand so I did my first 2 runs at 60% then the next 3 like I would a Champ event. On my theoretical 3rd run I set the Top Time of the Day....I don't know if my name and TTOD go together quite yet but today it seemed to sound nicely over the intercom...HAHAHA...well I got to really push the car OVER the edge at the practice gaining much needed experience in autoXing in the rain which I feel is a whole new way of racing.

Overall fun times and fun people...here are some pics and video....no the camera is not out of focus...its condensation..even with the heater on full blast and other methods it would not go away...

it was great talking to you at the event. This was my first "serious" rain event. I came with the intention to set a fast time that would even surprise myself. I couldnt believe how fast you were going through. Made me want to hop back into my car and try and beat your time. Hey could i get the name of the shop that did the machining work on your d16? i plan to get the motor redone in time to jump back into sts.
