Stock Suspesion Dismantle

Well I had no big plans for Friday night so I went ahead and started on dismantling the stock suspension to help save us time on Sunday. I used a few different sites to collect the general idea on how this was to be done, but I went ahead and took detailed photos to describe the dismantle for reference.

So first collect the tools that you will need.
-3/8 socket - 14mm
-3/8 socket - 17mm
-1/4 socket - 12mm
-1/4 socket - 14mm
-1/4 socket - 17mm
-3/8 ratchet
-1/4 ratchet
-1/4 breaker bar

Now lets get started with the front struts. Start by putting the car on jack stands and then take off you 20 inch spinnerz...

First remove the 12mm bolts that hold down the brake line.

Next loosen the 17mm nut and bolt at the Lower Control Arm

Next loosen the two 14mm bolts on the top mount inside the engine compartment

Next loosen the 12mm pinch bolts where the bottom of the strut meets the strut holder and remove the strut from holder then remove the 14mm nuts at the top strut mount that you loosened earlier then remove the strut from the fender by pulling it out toward the front of the car. Don't forget to note how all the things came out so you can put them back in later.

Now onto the rear...

Start by removing the 14 mm bolt that attaches the strut to the rear lower control arm.

Next remove the two 14mm bolts that hold the upper pivot arm.

Next remove the two 14mm bolts inside the cabin at the strut mount and the remove the strut by pulling the strut towards the rear of the car

VIOLA the stock suspension is out. But don't throw it away just yet you will need alot of the part to build the new suspension
