I arrived right when they finished the course and with tech, reg, prepping the car, and trying to walk the course as many times as I could I just barely made it to grid with all of our electronics on and mounted. But I still beat my lead competitor Marco to the grid so I couldn't have been too late...(hahaha marco)
I was a bit nervous in the fast that the course was a fast one and there were areas that I felt I would be adjusting my radio with my foot flat on the gas waiting for the next turn so I knew that high powered cars would have an edge there. So I tried to focus on making sure I got all the transitional short turn pieces just right to gain all the time I could during the run.
The three runs went by in a blink and when all the tire bits settled I was ahead by 0.7 seconds.
So great weather in SD, the car and the surface are well adjusted for next weeks national tour so I hope that we get a good shot at nationals.
Some exciting news on the marketing side of the car...
INTERNATIONAL ALLSTARS have started talks with us about sponsoring the car for the 2008 season. We are very excited with the Allstars' involvement in our team and we will be back with updates as soon as they are available. We hope to have the Allstars logo on our back at NATIONAL TOUR so we will see what develops...
