STS seems to be dominated by my previous car the Subaru 2.5 RS driven by Marco Vasquez, who is also a good friend of mine. I was very excited to go to his home turf to try to give him a run for his money.
I was scheduled to run in the last run group but wanted to get a good chance to look at the course and not have any excuses at the end of the day so I arrived at the lot at 730am took my 3 walks and went to sleep for a few hours...
Our run group was a tight one...with another civic, the subaru and an integra all with close times...I took the early lead with my first run but marco hit back with a coned run 0.7 seconds faster...My third run sucked because I almost hit the s2000 in fornt on me while on course (more about that later) and marco took the lead with a clean 4th run....My last run not knowing where I was or what I had to do was the best thing I could do....the stage was set and I was the last car out for the day....deep breaths like Tom D tells me to do and VIOLA!!!!..... .2 seconds faster then marco's fastest run putting me back in 1st...whohoo!!!! What excitement...Alex said he could hear me screaming coming across the finish from 2 work stations over, thinking that Micheal Jackson was in the car with me...
Overall Great nail bitting STS run group....i will post results shortly. Much thanks to M. Palero for playing waterboy for me, and my hat goes off to Marco, Warren, and Mark for putting some great runs down..
See you guys in march for another STS showdown!!!
....and if you think I'm fast...you haven't met "theyeohmaster" he taught me all I know and if SD wasn't almost 3.5 hours way he would be here too...
